IST-Africa 2007 Conference and Exhibition

The IST-Africa 2007 Conference & Exhibition takes place 9 - 11 May 2007 in Maputo, Mozambique. Part of the IST-Africa Initiative, which is supported by the European Commission under the IST Programme of Framework Programme 6 (FP6), IST-Africa 2007 is the second in an Annual Conference Series which brings together representatives from leading commercial, government & research organisations across Africa and Europe, to bridge the Digital Divide by sharing knowledge, experience, lessons learnt and good practice.

IST-Africa 2007 will focus on Applied IST research topics addressing major societal and economic challenges, which is part of the European Commission's Information Society Technologies (IST) programme. The programme combines strategic keynote presentations, technical and policy papers, case studies, workshops, an exhibition and social activities. Conference participants will have the opportunity to network and share their experiences, work together to identify opportunities for research collaboration and adaptation of existing research results, and learn more about opportunities to participate in IST Calls under Framework Programme 7 (FP7).

IST-Africa 2006 was very successful with submissions from 40 countries in response to the Call for Papers, and over 300 delegates from 38 countries and 4 continents. It also featured an Exhibition with demonstrations stands and posters from African and European research and governmental organisations from 13 countries.

IST-Africa 2007 is supported by the European Commission through the IST Programme, Hosted by the Government of Mozambique, with Technical Co-Sponsorship by IEEE. Confirmed sponsors include the Embassy of Finland in Mozambique and UNDP Mozambique.
